La Maison d'en Haut

In the heart of the Plateau des 1000 Étangs, 4 bedrooms (including 2 family rooms for 4 or 5 people) set within a renovated 18th-century traditional farmhouse, overlooking the hamlet and boasting a beautiful view. The separate entrance to the guest rooms is through the large arched doorway of the ‘charri’, where we have created a small lounge opening onto the long communal dining room, where we serve dinner as part of our table d’hôtes and breakfast. To the left, a grand oak staircase leads up to the floors housing the four guest rooms. We have preserved the original ‘perchis’ (loft spaces) thanks to a half-landing between the first and second floors. We have set up a small, well-stocked library on the large landing on the first floor, and board and card games on the landing on the second floor. The garden and terraces (one of which is covered), complete with garden furniture, are also entirely at our guests’ disposal. As more and more cycling enthusiasts have been visiting the Plateau des 1000 Étangs since the 2012 Tour de France, we have converted part of the garage to accommodate cyclists, complete with a repair kit, pump and various tools.
