A hack week is about long stretches of focused building, short feedback loops and a demo at the end. Taking the team away from daily work makes it easier to protect that focus, and building something together in a few days is good for the team as well.
The venue has to work as an office first: reliable, fast Wi-Fi, enough tables and power sockets, and a room where everyone can watch the demos. Everything else, from a garden to walk in to a dinner cooked for you, makes the long days easier.

How to organise a team offsite: the full guide →- Wi-Fi speed in Mbps, confirmed by the venue; ask for a test or bring a 4G/5G router as a backup.
- A desk or table space and a power socket for everyone, plus extension leads.
- A room with a screen or projector for stand-ups and the final demos.
- Quiet places to focus and a place to talk, apart from each other.
- Meals on site, so the team does not lose an hour every evening.

How do I know the Wi-Fi is fast enough?
Venue pages show the Wi-Fi speed when it is known, and say “to be confirmed” otherwise. For venues on request we ask the venue before you book.
How many days does a hack week take?
Most teams plan three to five working days, with travel on the first and last day. A short hackathon of two days fits a long weekend or a venue close to home.
Can we book a venue with a desk for everyone?
Describe your team in the AI search, for example “a desk and a screen for everyone and very fast Wi-Fi”, and it looks for venues that fit and explains why.
