Domaine des Forges de la Vache

For a long time, the echo of the rhythmic work of machines and men, millers and then blacksmiths, near the banks of the Loire, which carried the fruits of their labour far away. The hamlet, which once lit up the Nivernais countryside with its steelmaking fires, now lives on as a peaceful resort nestling between fields and forests, where silence yields only to the sounds of nature. The Domaine des Forges de la Vache welcomes you to the enchanting and poetic setting of its 4-hectare park, with its spring and stream flowing through the centuries-old trees. Our rooms and houses of charm allow you to find your personal configuration, from a stay for two to complete privatisation for a special event. A permaculture vegetable garden and its period greenhouse, the henhouse and even the old stables or an authentic 18th-century blast furnace. This magnificent estate has some wonderful discoveries in store for you. Cultivating an art of living that invites you to take your time. To slow down. To be inspired by the surrounding beauty. To breathe in. This is the story that's being written here. It runs counter to the frenetic pace of our modern lives, so connected yet disconnected from the essential link that binds us to nature. On the heights of the estate, the wellness area with swimming pool, Scandinavian bath and sauna promises moments of special relaxation. Outside in fine weather or in our dining room, we offer a gourmet breakfast all year round. Our concierge service is at your disposal to organise lunches or dinners, massages or excursions in the region, in advance and in liaison with our partners. All our accommodation offers a high level of comfort and a warm, tastefully decorated atmosphere.
